The actions of one effect all...

The three stories we read for class show ethos as to why some races don't always get along with other races. Some have hate for the other because of their history. People don't remember the kind things we do for each other, they only remember the mean and hateful things. The actions of a handful of people can represent an entire race.

Just because we were at war with Japan meant that anyone who remotely resembled an Asian had to be the "bad guy." People felt that they needed to be mean toward Asians because of the conflict thousands of miles away. Society didn't try to understand. They were prejudice no matter what. We see these examples in our readings, but unfortunately we see them in society today. Society didn't learn there lesson the first time...or the second time. Still today Arabs are singled out at airports, being treated differently just because of what their appearance is on the outside. Don't get me wrong, we still need to have strict security in place so a tragedy like September 11th doesn't happen again. But airport personnel can't discriminate against a certain race because of the actions of a handful of people.
