hmmm...interesting

After and entire day on campus, I was never able to find a tent with electronics in it, but I did run into some kind of car show, so I entered. Immediately I became the minority and there were eyeballs looking at me from all directions. Some were filled with disgust, as if to ask why I had a reason for being on their territory, and others seemed to drool with excitement from the idea of a girl interested in cars (or pretending to be interested). I may have been the only person with hair past their shoulders in a thirty-foot radius. The guys around me seemed to beam at the fact that they finally had a chance to show their pride and joy to anyone who wanted to see, and the sparkle in their eye as they explained to me what year and the model their "precious baby" was, was truly freakish. They were all bustling around with a little more pizzazz in their walk, and a little more excitement in their voice. The only thing I could think of in that very long six minutes was "who cares", but as I was making my way back to the dorms, I spotted a jewelry sale and immediately started to walk a little quicker. At that exact moment I stopped in my tracks and took a second to chuckle to myself at the irony of the situation. I had just finished making fun of those car maniacs, and here I was about to do the same thing. I realized that all humans are the same in that when they love something, it makes them more excited to look at that item, and want to share it with others in the hopes that they might find the same joy that we have found.
