The only thing that I have truly learned from these articles is the term JAP being used towards Jewish women. From T.V. and word of mouth, I have heard these stereotypes before, but have only established JAP as being Japanese people from the time of WWII. I don’t feel that I personally have learned much from these articles, except one main thing. It has brought out all the ugly truths that we may already know; just do not want to confront it. I believe that what was said about white privilege is true, and this is an example of it. We do not have to face as big as problems as these different types of people do, and because of that, we tend to walk away. Most people tend to turn the other way when they see things that aren’t considered normal. In our society, we take what is the majority and that is considered normal. I personally don’t pay much attention to people that stand out, and just fit in with my own social group. There are many ways the writers of these articles use ethos, pathos, and logos. In the story about Male and white privilege, logos is used when the list is described. This gives every day facts that are observed. Ethos is used in the stories because the writers are telling the stories of themselves. It is first hand experiences. Pathos is used primarily by trying to put you in their shoes. Somewhat making you feel sorry for them.
