The stories that we have read in class give you a better understanding of how racism truly effects a persons entire life. People are who they are because of what is inside, not on the outside. These stories show a struggle for not just racial equality, but gender as well. Being one of four asians at a university would be extremely difficult given the fact that everyone around you is of the same race and look down upon you asi if you are a pest. The stories we have read really do create a realistic depiction of what the reality of race struggle is. Our american culture preaches about equality and oppertunity, yet during a war they can just imprison someone who just looks like the enemy. racial profiling happens everyday at airports across the country. middle easterners are stopped at security checkpoints for simply the reason they look the way they do. I feel that there needs to be realization that racial profiling is hurting our society.
