The fact that we receive this assignment is really funny because when I walked past it after class on Thursday I laughed. The thought of our teacher in ADD mode while he digressed from his enthralling conversation to observe the NCAA Football flyer! As I casually strolled by the first thing I noticed was how non-hype it was. There was an MC or something yelling random words that were in search of a listening ear. The fact that there are so many T.V. screens just boggles my mind. The people playing were, as Mr. Severe said, so engaged in engrossed in the screen that they might have been studying for a mid-term. To the surprise of most, the videogame industry is really booming around campus. Just about everybody and their brother have an XBOX or Playstation 2. It seems almost like a life skill that must be acquired by how hardcore some of these people are. The really big thing that popped out in my mind was that there were lines. Amazing! A game takes about 30+ min. rather than the 5 min. one might expect from the four to six people standing behind the two people playing! I should have joined but didn’t really think about it. What a story that would have been?! Hopefully the people that played did not drain themselves to much mentally so they could have some brain power left to do the always important college homework. Maybe one day we will all be able to experience the spotlight of playing NCAA Football in a tent on a college campus. I can not wait!
