Our culture and way of life has been influenced not by one, but many individuals throughout the ages. To say that the world has been influenced by one race is to claim ignorance. To say that one race is stronger then the other is being unaware of our history and what our nation stands for.

Growing up, class taught us about the different ideas used around the world by different nations. Some good, others bad. I was aware that there were different people in the world, but never really put myself in their shoes. I never forced myself to understand what their lives are like, what they have had to go through, or what they have had to deal with. Naturally, the Air Force opened my eyes to the different races out there. New friends gave way to new ideas and new cultural experiences I had not had before. Back in junior high and high school, to say that I did not know the differences other cultures offered is an understatement. Today, to say that I do not know the differences other cultures offer is a huge understatement.

This class has helped me to understand "the other side." That my way of life might be different then that of another. This is something I'm sad to say I'm not familiar with, and being forced to write about it has made me think even deeper about the differences in society today.

Work as individuals and we will be divided, but work together as a nation, [world] and we are strong.
