Happy Ending and At Risk
"Happy Ending" is about hwo drug addictions affect other people. The narrator's mother is a drug addict and has been g-for 29 years. His step father is also a drug addict. he travels to philadelphia to visit his mother in the hopes that he'll be able to bring her back to new york with him to keep her away from drugs. She is now clean, but the drugs have changed her too much for things to ever go back to the way they were before.
I think this video efficiently shows how selfish it is to do drugs. Because the narator's mother was doing drugs, she had no time for anything else. All she ever did was drugs. There even came a point in which her son was working to earn money to pay for her drugs. This just goes to show how dangerous drug addictions really are: they can easilly destroy lives.
"At Risk" is about the life of a highschool drop out and his life on the streets. It shows how many children decide not to go to school because it doesn't entertain them enough. they say cutting class is like a drug addiction: once you start you can no longer stop. It also depicts the pointless violence raging in the streets. At one point, two groups of boys get in a fight over a basketball and the fight even evolve to the point of knives. It is ridiculous what no restraint can cause.
