In the short film "No Cinderella Story", we see kids, aged 15-20, describing their own sexual lifestyles and what they expect out of love. The film focused on about 5 or 6 girls and 2 boys from the Staten Island area. This film, although shocking, thankfully is not a decent representation of teenage life. I'm not saying that these are the only teenagers who live like this, but I am arguing for the fact that the maker of this film did not do a very good job. For one, he (yes he, HE was more interested in what girls had to say and do) did not use a wide enough range of subjects. They all came from the same geographic region, were all around the same age, and were all from divorced homes. He also used far more girls than boys, while still only amounting to less than ten subjects for his film and reasearch. With the fallacies at play in this "documentary" we can assume that I, as a 19-year-old girl from a broken home, enjoy sleeping around with little or no emotional attachment. No thanks, my friend. Not everyone lives this lifestyle, in fact I know people who live complete opposite lives. My friends and I all have very different perspectives on this sort of topic, and it makes me wonder exactly how many people the maker of this film interviewed. Did he then pick and choose which ones he thought would be most interesting and best representational of what he WANTED others to believe about teenagers and premarital sex?

The overall message this film sent out was sad, and it made me question how long it would take before the majority, if not all of american teenagers come to the belief that love is impossible and too painful to bear, so that no one tries anymore for love and life becomes nothing more than a brave new world where love doesn't exist and all we're left with is "having" each other.
