Beauty and the Beast

When looking at the different Disney princesses and female main characters I did see uniqueness in each of them. As far as wardrobe goes I did not see a significant difference as in whether they got more provocative and such. Each female comes from a different times period, region, etc. They all pretty much dress according to that. I argue that not much has changed between the movies when I was growing up till now. It is pretty much always the same story. A women falls in love usually against her parents will, disobeys her parents, and some how becomes in distress and a man comes and saves her. My favorite Disney movie is Beauty and the Beast. I think that this movie is the least like the others. Belle is not dependant upon men, she sacrifices herself to save her father, and when in distress she fights herself. This video is the most realistic besides the fairytale part of it. Women should not always be portrayed as pitiful beings that could not survive without men. Women are usually just seen as being so pathetic and hopeless. Nevertheless people still love to watch these movies and I still love to watch them too. It is a movie and movies do not always have to be realistic. They are cute little love stories that always have a happy fairytale ending. I have to admit myself I do not like watching movies where the women are masculine and always saving men. I am not saying I like the damsel in distress. It is nice though when a woman can stand up for herself, but also be feminine, like Belle is.
