as i looked through various myspace profiles, the thing that shocked me the most was how people try to exploit themselves to people they dont even know. It was more apparent in the girl profiles, but even the guys would take pictures of themselves flexing their muscles in front of a mirror. I looked at three girls profiles and all of them displayed a picture of user in some provocative pose with an innocent but guilty look on their face. It amazes me how people cant understand why girls get stalked on myspace when i feel like i'm looking at a maxim magazine browsing through photos on their profile. one girl even posted a quote that sais "if you want me, come get me". I find this insane! It is a supermarket for stalkers. The other two girls seemed like two normal girls, but their picture definately sent off the wrong message. some of their posts on their blogs talked of really personal stuff such as their schedules after school, best friends, contact info. I know more about them from their webpage than if i talked to them for a half hour in person. One one profile, the new justin timberlake song played called "bringing sexy back" i think. anyway, this song just added to the aura that this girl was very sexy and wanted to meet guys who want a peice of her. The four guys profiles i looked at were also really similar. Out of the four, three had their picture taken with their shirts off. I also looked thorugh their albums and some had pictures of them partying it up and boozing like there is no tomorrow. Why people want pictures of themselves drinking and smoking stumps me. Partying is one thing, bbut documenting it in photos like a reality tv show is really stupid. you are just asking for trouble. All four profiles had musis which was fast paced and of the punk genre. Their friend posts talked about how wasted they were the weekend before. once again i have no problem with partying, but there is no need to talk about it 24/7 on your online profile. i personally hav a facebook and never allow any pictures of me partying or any posts talking of partying allowed on my profile. i delete them all asap. one thing i noticed with all of them which i thought was pretty crazy was the fact that 5 out of 7 had their cell numbers on their profiles. hopefully someday people will realize if they have a myspace or facebook, that it is a direct reflection of the person they are. i'm sure if you went up to any one these people and told them what your opinions were of them they would disagree...
