Grey's biology
Just to get started, I would like to say that Grey’s Anatomy is a great show! Getting hooked has become pretty easy since all the people I hang out with suckered me into it. A lot has been going on with all of the relationships in the whole plot and scheme of the show. Grey’s anatomy is centered around Meridith Grey who seems to intertwine with every male specimen that approaches her. As of right now, all of the male doctors and rookies have taken an adventurous trip into the wilderness with McDreamy. Alex and George are both rookies and while on their endeavor in the free spirited wild begin to fight after Alex tells George that his so called girlfriend, Cali, is sleeping with one of the other doctors. Doctor Preston Burke is one of the best characters in the show because he is so smart and handles stressful situations with class and skills. But, after being shot, Preston’s hand becomes disabled in a way so that he struggles to perform surgeries. Although, he attempts to hide this little defect so that he will not get kicked off the rotation. But while on the trip, George sees Burke having trouble with his fishing line and catches on that he has something wrong.
In this episode there are quite a few instances that portray what we have talked in our English class such as: Homosocial bonds, memetic desire, gender performance, and the erotic triangle. By fighting, Alex and George strengthen their homosocial bond. While McDreamy is off on the trip his nemesis, McSteamy, he attempts to steal Meredith from McDreamy. This is an example of memetic desire because McSteamy has hooked up with every girl that has laid her eyes on McDreamy. The gender performance is portrayed by a male that is making a rough transition to womanhood. The males name is Daniel, but is going to be Danielle. Daniel puts on a performance and will go to extreme measures to have the resemblance of a female even if it means life or death. Daniel would like to have a surgery to remove his penis and replace it with female genitalia.
