Grey's
I cannot tell you how excited I was when I got the e-mail saying we were doing a blog on Grey’s Anatomy. I absolutely love this show. Last weeks episode, while not particularly exciting, did have a lot of things going on. First off, the show has an interracial couple, Cristina and Preston. After being shot, Preston’s hand did not completely heal and Cristina has been helping him keep his secret because she is his girlfriend and that is what she is supposed to do. Even though people like Miranda and Meredith are being either hurt or pushed aside because of this secret. Cristina is very surprised when she finds out Preston is going camping, because “people named Preston don’t go camping”. However, the boys just want to get out and be “boys”. While camping the chief finds out about Walter and Joe being gay partners and awkwardly replies “man love”. Also during their trip in the woods, Alex decides to tell George about how Callie slept with Mark. They then begin to fight against the chiefs and Derek’s will. However, Preston thinks it will be a good idea. Next we have the man that wants to be a women and his wife who is uncertain about the whole situation at first, but at the end of the day realizes the person inside is still the same and that person is the one who makes her happy. Preston has to stitch up Walter after he hits his head on a rock because of the fight. George puts all the pressure on Preston and he manages to do the job, tremor-free. Toward the end Preston has a talk with George about how hard he is being on Callie and that he needs to learn that people mess up and to forgive. When they get back to the hospital Preston forgives Cristina for being so controlling. There were too things that surprised me in this episode, when Addison and Callie were clicking and at the end when Meredith and Derek finally decided to be together. There for a second I was scared Meredith was going to make another mistake. So really this episode is not about being gay, or being a man, or having pride. It is about being happy. Being happy with someone else, does not matter who just as long as at the end of the day they put that smile on your face.
