I have never watched Grey's Anatomy before this assignment so i wasn't sure really exactly the basis of the show was. This episode, however, dealed with every apsect of what our class has been covering over the entire semester. The show starts out with the guys going out on a "manly" camping trip in the mountains. After a few minutes a man named Donna wants to have a sex change and have her male genetalia removed. his wife Vicki is not fond of the operation because he used to a regular man, but she quickly found out her husband wanted to be a woman. She even started taking estrogen to develop breasts and it ended up giving her cancer, which is discovered later on in the show. Back at the camping trip, they find out two of the guys who are camping out are gay and it becomes obvious which is the more masculine and who is more feminine. When all of the guys are fishing, Walter is reading a book and his boyfriend tells them that they want kids someday. After a while, the guys at the camp realize that homosexuality is not such a wierd thing because they are happy together and that is all that really matters. Back in the hospital the doctor recommends that donna doesn't go through with the operation, but she decides to anyways and vicki storms off. After the operation you find her sitting by Donna's side and she said her reason for coming back because she still loves that person regardless of their gender, they are someone they trust and it is her best friend. As i said before this single episode of greys anatomy is everything our class is about in a nutshell.
