What is wrong with Cosmo
I have never looked at these kinds of magazines before on the account that I never liked "girly" stuff, such as make-up and things like that, but there is a first time for everything. Looking at some of the various covers of Cosmo and Cosmo Girl, and going to their websites, I've come to realize something, apparently they think all girls are good for is sex and being sexy. Every single cover has beauty tips for looking more sexy and a lot of them have tips for "pleasing your man." The websites are not any different either. An example is that as soon as I got to the Cosmopolitan website, there was a link on the homepage to, and I quote, "Rate the sex position of the week! G-Force." Another sex related thing I found on the website, and once again I quote, "You and I should hang out around the house buck-naked and brush up against each other "by accident." The next thing you know, we'll be going at it." This was from an article entitled "Sex Tips from Guys," and I could not figure out why they would put that in there. I could not figure out what girl in their right mind would just walk into her boyfriend's house, strip down to nothing, then just go find him naked and "accidentally" brush up against him. I am guessing that there are some girls who do do this, but the fact that these magazines are for girls around my age and younger (middle of high school) disturbs me. I honestly can say that I'm never going to read one of these magazines, unless it is for laughs. In fact, if I have a daughter, I will not allow her to read neither Cosmo Girl nor Cosmo until she is out of collage and can recognize that these magazines are a waste of paper and ink.
