cosmo
I have, in the past, attempted to read a cosmo magazine. However, all i was able to do was stare, wide eyed and wide mouthed, at the extremely appealing pictures displayed all over the magazine. The written content, while interesting and appealing as well, seemed extremely shallow and dull to me. It is all about sex and how to be good at it, etcetera. This stuff may very well be interesting to some people, but to me it just seems like a load of crap, particularly when it comes to relationship stuff. It is impossible to predict what some ones partner might like. Each and every person is extremely different in their sexual and emotional preferences; there is no magazine in the world that can accurately portray what one should or should not do because, as a fact, you never know.
Cosmogirl is just a toned-down version of cosmo. It does not have nearly as much sexual information but it still does incite teens to dress "sexy", therefore implying that sex is good at the age of their targeted audience. I personally believe that cosmogirl is just yet another way to promote sex and sexuality at an early age. In other words, cosmo and cosmogirl are basically sex handbooks trying to teach everyone something that can only be learned from experience.
Furthermore, the sex that cosmo so poorly portrays is most definitely not everything there is to it. Sexual relations are about loving someone to the point of exhaustion; being able to do anything and everything for someone other than yourself and expecting nothing in return. That is love, and sex should definitely not come without love.
