I have seen Cosmo and Cosmo girl before, but I am not much of a fan. My ex girlfriend used to buy Cosmo all the time. I would always skim through it and would just laugh. I remember seeing and article that was a poll or written by guys. I would read through it and laugh, because I don’t remember any of the things I read pertaining to me. She always told me that it was a good magazine, and that it helped understand things. It drove me nuts because it was completely opposite of me. I always said it was crap and just shook my head every time she bought one. I could not compare anything from the article to her at all, and never understood why she thought it was so good. After thinking about this for a while, I thought about the old blog assignment we did concerning Myspace. I compared these together, both having all of these sexual things, things you would not say when describing that person. I still do not think that I can explain the reason for this very well, but possibly from pressures of society. I also compared to these magazines to young men and football. People would always talk to me about me having to play football, and I’m a guy, it’s what I am supposed to do. Society helped pushed me into football, and I believe society plays a main role in young ladies believing that they enjoy Cosmo.
