A Second Look at No Cinderella Story
I think that the creator made this documentary to try to get across the point that as the title states, life is no Cinderella story. He wants teens to be aware of the problem, and by doing this he is trying to improve the situation. His audience includes not only the teens from the area that he interviewed, but every teen. Through this he is trying to make the general population more aware of the current problem. The clip is showing the authors distress of teenagers treating sex so lightly, and he is trying to point out that sex should not be used with the excuse of “There is nothing else to do.” He interviews boys and girls to emphasize his point that many teens, male and female, do not want a relationship and both genders are hooking up as something to do for the night. The overall clip is beneficial because this problem is existent in some areas of our country and should be dealt with. Through the clip, the creator is opening doors for teens to talk about sex, their home lives, and relationships in general; by doing this he hopes to help teens deal with their problems in other ways. He is effective by interviewing many teenagers who are currently dealing with these problems themselves. The creator also shows a primary concern for teens who grew up in broken families, and triggers many parts of his documentary to them. He is trying to show viewers the difference a role model and healthy family life can impact a teenager or child. On a second look at this clip, the creator does a good job of creating the image he wishes to portray.
