Cinderella Story 2
The film, "A Cinderella Story," explains the reasoning behind why some of the teenagers of Staton Island were heavily gauged in sexual activity in such an early age. Although not applicablefor all of the teenagers of the area, the teens interviewed do show some of the reasons and backgroundsome of the kids have which influences their decision making. The film does get somewhat of a pointacross, in that one can say that many external and environmental factors in the teen's lifecan affect the way they view sex and relationships in general. The film did not necessarily say or showthat all teens under the circumstances, divorced parents, boring area, bad family relationships, and lack of role models definately lead to such sexual behavior, but it showed what these factors can influence and lead to in a teen's life.
Another side or message seen in the video is how teens today view romance and sexuality in the world today. The teens openly expressed their opinions on sex, with seemingly no any sort of regrets or doubt of their actions. It just confirmed the idea of a sex-crazed country, even if this was not the main point that was trying to put across. The idea of a "Cinderella Story," a romance with a Prince Charming saving the girl, is no longer in today's society. Rather, as shown in the video, society and teenagers today are turning to sex filled, empty relationships, with no end in sight. Excuses for their sexual and relationship decisions are displayed throughout, with none of the teenagers in the video really taking any blame for their situations. Both "positve" messages are portrayed in the film, but I think the idea of a sex crazed country really stands out over the rest.
